Many people think that when it's time to get in shape, you have to join a gym. While joining a gym isn't a bad idea and it can help you reach your fitness goals, it's not always necessary. You can get a great workout while enjoying the outdoors and even in the comfort of your own home.

There are plenty of options to get a cardio workout while spending time outdoors. Walking, hiking, running, and biking are all great options to get your heart pumping. You can also add swimming to the list if you have access to a pool, a lake, or the beach. These exercises are great because you can always go at your own pace - if you want an easy workout, take a brisk walk. If you want something with more intensity, do some sprint intervals or a tough hike with a good elevation gain.

You can also get in a good workout right at home, all you need is space. Yoga and stretching, plyometrics, jumping jacks, dancing, abdominal workouts, pushups, and more - you don't need weights or machines for any of this because you just use your own body weight. You can even create your own workout routine. It's a good idea to do these workouts with a friend to keep yourself on track and motivated. Find a workout buddy and get to it! You can add to your workout by purchasing a set of free weights, bands, or other equipment to keep at home.
